Chapter 1: Assault on Hyrule

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Just so y'all know, I do NOT know what i'm doing. My chapters and overall story will probably be relatively short. I am open to suggestions so feel free to make them. Enjoy the story!

CHAPTER ONE

Link lay in his small bed, dreaming of the beautiful princess, who he had saved from Ganon. A slightly muscle bound blonde of 18 years, Link was not the type of person you would think had fought and defeated the greatest evil Hyrule had ever known. Indeed, he was the Hero of Time.

The princess he was dreaming about was Zelda. A princess with magic powers, Zelda was well known and loved by the people of Hyrule. Even though she was the same age as Link, she had wisdom beyond her years. Her personal life was shrouded in mystery, seeing as she kept to herself mostly.

Back to Link in his little bed. It seemed that he had just fallen into a dream where four colorfully clad Zeldas were huddled around him in a field of flowers when a pain in his back woke him up.

"Ow! What the hell'd you do that for?" Link looked up to see Saria, his childhood friend, looking flustered. She had aparrently kicked him.

"Finally!" she gasped, "Link, something's destroying the forest!"

Link jumped up, grabbed his sword and shield, and jumped off the balcony of his treehouse (Link was always jumping off things like boxes, cliffs, etc.). What he saw, he never forgot. An enormous shadow was covering the forest like a giant storm. A storm of fire. In the center of the swirling chaos, a figure clad in a black cloak hovered. It had wings like a dragon and a hood hid its face in darkness so the only visible things were its glowing purple eyes.

"Holy shit." Link mumbled, as the storm of hell continued. Link pulled out his bow, from nowhere as is common in this type of situation, and fired an ice arrow at the figure. It swerved and dodged the full blast, but the magic power froze the tip of its wing. It let out an unearthly hiss, like all evil monsters do when in a tight spot, and then dissappeared in a flash of green light.

"Damn it, now I have another villian to kill!" Link groaned. Little did he know this monster would be more challenging than anything before.

The next day, the Kokiri children were rebuilding their houses as Link geared up for his new journey. Along with his Master Sword and Mirror Shield, he brought his bow and hookshot and, of course, his ocarina. He said his goodbyes and left the forest. Out in Hyrule field Link played a little tune (which somehow came out fully orchestrated) and a magnificent horse appeared from nowhere. Unfortunately, it appeared behind Link. It hit him in his back with its nose.

"What the f***!?!?" Link yelled, and the horse whinnied as if in laughter. Stupid horse. Link thought as he climbed into the saddle. With that amusing reunion out of the way, the Hero and his mare (Epona) galloped away towards Hyrule castle to begin their most dangerous quest ever.

Koroks Rock says:

Spellcheck would be a good place to start. Also, I sugest you do a bit of reading on BBcode so that you can implement some formatting. (it's linked to on the Submission page.) It's very useful for making italics and such when you want to look at what a character is thinking.

You may want to use a slightly less casual tone of voice for the first few paragraphs. "Now to Zelda" is not exactly the kind of thing that normal storytellers say. Not that you can't use that kind of thing, some people use casual phraseology to great effect, but it's hard to pull off.

Link_Dream says:

If its rated R partially for laguage, why are the cuss words bleeped out?

Adlez47 says:

I didn't bleep them. My rating changed too. Oh well, that's what i was origionally gonna do anyway. Hey, KR, is there a way to change my story description, 'cause I can't find out how

Koroks Rock says:

I'll do it for you. What did you want?
And the bleeps are universal to zeldalegends.net, I'm looking into a way to exclude ZLFF from them. It's just part of how the site code works.

Adlez47 says:

Yeah, I found that out yesterday. Please change the story description to fit the rating, or change the rating because I plan on putting in some mildly adult jokes (nuts, sticks, etc.)

linksgirl says:

Zelda is 20 years old...not 18.....

Adlez47 says:

Since when does Zelda have a definite age?

Koroks Rock says:

The ages of the characters is primarily at the discretion of the authors. Furthermore, none of the charaters in the zelda series have a concrete age- Miyamato was very deliberate in his wording, so that there would be _more_ ambiguity and enigma about link. Beyond artistic variances, we can't tell which link is older, aLttP, LA, oracles, whatnot.

linksgirl, i would highly advise you do not irritate authors with grandious proclamations without any canon proof.

star_breaker says:

I would hazard a guess that Link and Zelda are approximatley 17/18... but I could be wrong...

zora knight says:

i know what the original concept for this story is, but Adlez might change it. for a good reason.

Adlez47 says:

dont ever assume with me, i never make up my mind
