Chapter 1: Link: Goat herder
Link stood in the coral with Fado. He loved the coral, the way the sun shined on it, the way the grass made the wind whistle as it came by, but most of all, he loved the animals. Fado breathed in the warm air and sighed. This had been a productive weak so far.
“All…righty! Well, why don’t we call it a day and finish up early,” Fado said, “you go use some of that horse grass there and call Epona, like always, huh?” link nodded and turned to pick one of the horseshoe shaped leaves off of the hardy plant. He put the blade p to his lips and blew softly into it, trilling out the song that would call out epona, as fado said, like always.
The sound of hooves started as the song ended. Suddenly, the barn doors burst open, and Epona, links horse, charged out of the barn. She ran with grace and majesty towards the waiting men. As Epona reached them, she reared up on her hind legs, and whinnied. It was as if she were saying hello.
“well are you about ready to round up them goats and get ‘em back to the barn? What do you say, Link?” Fado implied. Link thought about it, and decided to give it the old village try. “Great! Then hop on Epona!” Fado exclaimed. Link did as he was bid, leaping skillfully onto his trusty horses back.
“Looks like your ready. All righty! Now you chase them goats and herd them into the barn! And be quick about it now!’ Fado told Link. Link drove his heals into Epona’s sides, and started systematically rounding and driving the goats into the barn.
Link finished up with his work, so he was allowed to leave. After completing Fado’s request to jump the fences of course! He rode down the path that led into his home, Toaro Village.
