Vaati's New Goal

Chapter 1: Painful Memories
“There he is!” Shouted a voice, pointing to a shivering boy.
“Let’s get him!” Shouted another, as some guards ran towards the cowering boy. The boy stood up, and ran off, away from the guards. “L-leave me be! I don’t mean any harm! Please!” He shouted, his lavender hair blowing in the wind. His red eyes glittered with fear, looking back at the guards.
“You won’t get away from us, Vaati!” Their leader shouted, running ahead of him and blocking his only way out of this mess. He gasped, looked behind him, then to the leader, then behind, and back to the leader again. The guards surrounded him, closing off any other ways out.
“N-no! I d-didn’t mean to do any of that stuff, please let me go!” He whimpered, looking around as the guards got closer and closer.
“Why would we believe anything you say now? You could be tricking us.” The leader crossed his arms as the guards grabbed the purple-cloaked boy. Vaati struggled, but couldn’t get free of their grasp. They took him to Hyrule Castle for his hanging punishment. While passing through Hyrule Market, Vaati got some bad stares from the many watching. He sighed in defeat, knowing this was what he got for thinking that being evil would make him stronger.
Meanwhile, a young girl followed them quietly, not seen by the guards nor the Hylians busy buying stuff they didn’t really need.
The guards threw him into a small jail cell, locked the door, and walked off. “...I d-didn’t mean to d-d-do a-any of that s-s-stuff...” He whimpered, hugging himself. The ghost girl, now visible to be a Purple Poe wearing a pink dress, hid in the wall of Vaati’s cell. She wondered what the guards wanted with this scared, lonely boy. Suddenly, a guard came in and pushed Vaati to the wall, holding in his left hand a knife. “A-aah! P-p-please d-d-d-don’t hurt me!” He begged, watching the knife in fear, “P-please believe me! I’ve c-c-changed! I’ve c-changed!”
“Why should I believe you, you filthy VILLIAN?!” The guard shouted, stabbing the knife into Vaati’s left eye. He quickly removed the knife, throwing Vaati to the floor at the same time. “Hurts, doesn’t it?! DOESN’T IT?!” The guard asked, looking very angry. Vaati curled up, whimpering quietly and covering his bleeding left eye. “I’m s-sorry... I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry...” He whimpered, hoping for the pain to just stop, for the pain, not in his eye, but in his heart, to stop. The guard left him laying there, slamming the cell door behind him. The girl came out from hiding, placing a ghostly purple hand on his head. “Don’t cry. It’s okay. I know it hurts, but it’s okay.” She said, trying to calm him down.
“W-who are you…?” He asked, looking up from crying.
“My name is Coma… I know how it feels to be treated this way… I’ll try to help.”
“H-how…? You’re a Poe…”
“I can transform into a Hylian girl. Perhaps the crying of a seemingly normal, everyday girl can persuade them into letting you go?” She transformed into her ‘human’ form. She had long, flowing blonde hair and beautiful goldenrod eyes. Her pink dress swayed back in forth with her body, with a kind smile. “…Wow… Transformation spells…” He watched in amazement.
“Yeah, my late daddy taught me this trick.” She giggled a bit, and transformed back, “You’d better get some rest… I know the hanging comes tomorrow, but you’ll need as much energy as possible: I’m going to set you free.”
“…Okay.” He nodded a bit, smiled to her, and laid down in a-surprisingly enough-comfortable bed.
The next day, guards came into the cell, waking Vaati up carefully. “…I’m going to take a guess and say that it’s time for my painless death.” He asked, as the guards sadly nodded, except for the exact one from before, who shook his head happily, “Well, I guess I have no choice.” Vaati stood up, quickly brushing his hair over his left eye by ‘accident’, and then following the guards. They tied the rope, trying to tell him it’ll be over with fairly quickly. He nodded his head slowly, and sighed a bit. As they were preparing to hang Vaati, Coma watched from the shadows...
