LoZ2--Moby.jpg
LoZ2--Moby.jpgZelda 2 AoL Moby955 viewsThe experience-stealing bird from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I used a sprite as reference for this one.

Take it down before it steals some of your hard-earned EXP!

LoZ2--Octorok.jpg
LoZ2--Octorok.jpgZelda 2 AoL Octorok843 viewsOctorok in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, and I used a sprite as a reference.

He may look cute, but drop your guard at your own peril! He may be getting a rock ready to spit out!

LoZ2--Daira.jpg
LoZ2--Daira.jpgZelda 2 AoL Daira857 viewsThe axe-wielding gator, Daira, from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link

The redder version of this guy is a pain in the arse, as he can throw his axe! This version (the yellow/orangish) is a bit more tame.

Anyway, I used a mix of the official art and a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Moa_and_friend.jpg
LoZ2--Moa_and_friend.jpgZelda 2 AoL Moa and Girobokku462 viewsThe two ghastly eyes from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link

For Moa, I used an official art as a reference. For Girobokku (exact English name unknown; I'll have to visit the Zelda wiki to know), I used a sprite as a reference.

Anyway, here they are, haunting a graveyard (I know Girobokku appears in the "Valley of Death" near the final palace, but still...). For Moa, have the cross ready--some of them are invisible otherwise!

LoZ2--Bit_and_Bot.jpgZelda 2 AoL Bit and Bot922 viewsBit and Bot, the two weak blobs from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I used sprites as a reference.

Make great training fodder for starter adventurers, these two.

LoZ2--Ache.jpg
LoZ2--Ache.jpgZelda 2 AoL Ache637 viewsAche, the bat from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

I used a sprite as a reference.

And you definitely will "ache" if this bat attacks you a lot!

LoZ2--Geldarm.jpg
LoZ2--Geldarm.jpgZelda 2 AoL Geldarm460 viewsThe giant desert centipede frol Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Geldarm.

I used the sprite as a reference. Oh, and between Geldarm and Lowder, I wanted to do an AoL version of Goriya, but forgot--didn't realize it till it was too late. D'oh! Ah, well, you can see Goriya in my Zelda 1 art. Not too much of Goriya changed between the two games.

LoZ2--Lowder.jpg
LoZ2--Lowder.jpgZelda 2 AoL Lowder440 viewsThe big bug in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Well, one of several big bugs, anyway.

I more or less used the sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Moblin.jpg
LoZ2--Moblin.jpgZelda 2 AoL Moblin836 viewsMoblin in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, seeking to avenge his master Ganon.

He's a wee bit goofy looking since I used a sprite as a reference.

Anyway, beware of the spear!

LoZ2--Magic_Jars.jpg
LoZ2--Magic_Jars.jpgZelda 2 AoL Magic Jar736 viewsThe two colors of Magic Jars from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

Blue one partially refills magic, red one refills magic fully.

I used sprites as a reference.

LoZ2--Treasure_Bag.jpg
LoZ2--Treasure_Bag.jpgZelda 2 AoL Treasure Bag910 viewsThe Treasure Bag in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link.

It's kinda bizarre that Zelda 2: AoL is the one of the few Zelda games (if not the ONLY official Zelda game) that has EXP. Anyway, the treasure bag gives you a little extra experience points. Careful, though--some are menacing mimics that hide enemies!

I used a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Heart_Container.jpg
LoZ2--Heart_Container.jpgZelda 2 AoL Heart Container418 viewsHeart Container in Zelda 2: Adventure of Link, and it's kinda like Heart Containers in all Zelda Games.

Get it and your health increases. You'll need all the life you can get to survive the challenges ahead!

I tried to use a sprite or official artwork as a reference, but I think I eff'ed it up. Oh, well.

LoZ2--Magic_Container.jpg
LoZ2--Magic_Container.jpgZelda 2 AoL Magic Container1056 viewsThe Magic Container from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Get it and your magic meter increases. You'll need a LOT of Magic to take on the final foes in the Great Palace!

I tried to use a sprite as a reference.

LoZ2--Doll.jpg
LoZ2--Doll.jpgZelda 2 AoL 1Up Doll389 viewsThe cute 1Up Doll from Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Isn't it cute?

Weird how Zelda 2 is one of the few Zelda games (if not the ONLY one) that has extra lives. How bizarre, how bizarre.

Anyway, I used an official artwork as a reference.

LoZ1--Gleeok.jpg
LoZ1--Gleeok.jpgLoZ1 Gleeok564 viewsThe dragon, Gleeok. In this case, it is (or WAS) three headed. And two of the heads (including the severed one flying about) is missing their mustaches--maybe Link gave them a shave when going for the heads.

Anyway, I used the official art as my reference.

LoZ1--Digdogger.jpg
LoZ1--Digdogger.jpgLoZ1 Digdogger355 viewsThe giant urchin, Digdogger. Maybe it's in the middle of shrinking after hearing Link's whistle.

I used a mix of the main art in the manual, and the sprite, as reference here. And I had trouble getting the side wall to look right. Can't win 'em all, I suppose.

I used the official art in the manual as the reference here.

LoZ1--Aquamentus.jpg
LoZ1--Aquamentus.jpgLoZ1 Aquamentus370 viewsThe unicorn dragon. As long as one has the correct sword and some other weapons, this dragon isn't too hard.

I used both some game sprites and the official manual art as reference.
